Summer Dance Intensive
Ormond Ballet Summer Dance Intensive
Join Ormond Ballet for two weeks of exceptional training designed for dedicated dancers seeking to strengthen their technique, expand their artistry, and deepen their understanding of dance as both an art form and a profession.
Under the direction of Michelle Boutros and Jeremiah Garner, dancers will receive comprehensive instruction in classical ballet, pointe, variations, contemporary dance, partnering, conditioning, artistry, and performance development. The intensive is designed to challenge students while fostering confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.
Week One (July 13–17) features guest artists Zhanna Dubrovskaya and Julie Wittenburg. Ms. Dubrovskaya, a graduate of the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy and former soloist with the Maly Theatre of Opera and Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia, brings decades of experience as an internationally respected teacher, coach, choreographer, and artistic director. Returning to Ormond Ballet, she will share her expertise in the traditions, musicality, and artistry of Russian classical ballet. Joining her is Julie Wittenburg, a former trainee with the Dutch National Ballet, Ballet West, and Gelsey Kirkland Ballet. A native of Ormond Beach, Julie brings valuable insight into both the professional ballet world and the many pathways available to dancers beyond the stage.
Week Two (July 20–24) welcomes guest artist Colin Fuller, a Juilliard graduate whose diverse career has included training and performance opportunities with leading institutions and artists across the United States and Europe. His experience in both classical ballet and contemporary dance provides students with a dynamic and versatile approach to movement, performance, and artistic expression.
In addition to daily technique classes, students will participate in Artist Hour, a unique component of the intensive exploring ballet history, musicality, choreography, wellness, creativity, performance skills, and career development. Through mentorship from our distinguished faculty, dancers will gain valuable insight into the artistic, educational, and professional opportunities available within the dance world.
Whether students aspire to a professional career or simply wish to deepen their training, the Ormond Ballet Summer Dance Intensive offers an inspiring environment where technical excellence, artistic growth, and personal development come together.

The program opens with the luminous “Kingdom of the Shades” from La Bayadère—one of classical ballet’s most iconic and demanding scenes. Known for its hypnotic precision and ethereal beauty, this act showcases the corps de ballet in a breathtaking display of unity, control, and purity of line along with a touching pas de deux that will pull on your heartstrings.
In vibrant contrast, the gala features the spirited “Jardin Animé” from Le Corsaire. This celebratory garden scene bursts with color, musicality, and virtuosity, offering audiences a joyful expression of classical bravura and refined elegance.
Completing the evening is Dyad 1909, an original contemporary work by Jeremiah Garner. This evocative piece explores duality, tension, and connection through a modern movement language that challenges and expands the boundaries of classical training.
Together, these works form a compelling program that bridges tradition and innovation—highlighting the versatility, discipline, and artistry of Ormond Ballet’s dancers.
